Blog Entry #2 :Do You Know Who's Viewing Your Profile?!?!?!

The word socializing has change. Many people say that the best way to socialize is through networking sites such as Facebook, MySpace and Twitter. There have been many controversies over these types of sites. Ever since the release of Facebook in 2004. One of the controversies is how privacy and security is unprotected. Facebook is very open which, in times can be good or can be bad. It gives strangers an instant access to your contact information, pictures of you and in times can be used to steal your identity. One of the best ways to protect you from the invasion of your privacy and security is to always be aware of the threats. The reason why many people’s privacies have been invaded is because they don’t know who is viewing their profile. There are many ways to protect you ways, one of them is by going into your Privacy Settings and clicking on “friends only”. This will make your Facebook profile seen by your friends only and no one else, keeping out strangers & stalkers from your profile. You should also make your contact information private which means you should make sure that only friends can view it and no one else. You can do this by going on your profile, going under “Contact Information” in the “Info” tab of your profile. There are many other ways of protecting yourself like make sure that you only accept friend’s requests from people you know. Make sure that if you are having a person conversation with someone you should talk to them by writing to their inbox. This can be done by going to your friends profile and under the view videos option there is an option that says “send message to Friend”. This makes your conversations private. One Final thing to protect yourself is to always stay clean and safe on the internet, don’t brag, boast, insult or mock people because this may only aggravate them.

There was a movie recently released about a movie called "catfish". It is an american documentary  which is about how two people start a relationship but it ends up to be a mystery when the girlfriend ignores his idea about meeting up. This is also about how people can deceive you on the internet.

There is a video to the trailer below:
